I think he knew about it---vaguely, in a murky distorted way...just like the principal in season 3
>I had a DREAM I went in that apartment....but I didn't go there!
Also, I think the whole principal section is in the future. Cooper is going to escape, kill Dougie's wife (that's how her ring ends up in that body) and then transfer BOB over to the principal for some reason.
Have the events with the principal being arrested been linked to any of the other stories going on? That is, is there anything to prove the principal being arrested isn't something that happened in the future?
I don't like poopy coop, i want old coop back
Back in 1990, I got myself a bit of work as an extra on Twin Peaks, just in the background on some of the scenes in The Great Northern. As anyone who’s done this sort of work will know, it’s not that exciting but the money isn’t bad considering that you don’t really have to do much.
One of the worst things is that there’s a lot of waiting around doing nothing while the crew set stuff up. Generally speaking, the proper cast - as opposed to the extras - all fuck off and sit in a cast-only room to warm up and have a damn good coffee, while the rest of us wait around outside.
On one of these occasions, we’d been standing around doing nothing for about half an hour, so out of boredom I decided to have a wander around. That’s when I noticed Sherilyn Fenn just on her own, leaning up against a wall. I wasn’t going to try anything on, she just looked liked she had nobody to talk to, and I thought it would be cool to say hi to her, so I walked over.
She didn’t notice me at first, so I just said “Hi”, which made her look up. I didn’t even get the chance to say another word before she looked at me with this look of utter disgust on her face and shouted out in a sarcastic tone of voice “What? Seriously?”
I was completely taken aback and just stuttered “H-However... I thought.....” She took a pace towards me, raising her voice and said “You thought WHAT? Thought I’d suck your dick?”
By now I’m mortified, just opening and closing my mouth but she gets even louder and starts making this sort of whooping siren noise and shouting “PEDO ALERT, PEDO ALERT.”
I step back but she’s still advancing on me making this whooping noise, until a couple of guys arrived. One of them is Ray Wise and he said something to her and then led me away just saying “Let me see” Then he grabbed my hands and look at my fingers for about 5 minutes and then told me to wash my hands. I didn’t get in any trouble, just steered clear her for the rest of the time I was working there.

>will have the option early on to save an NPC only to have them die anyway
>it would probably have Windom Earle in it
>>83988970
She's got her wedding ring on. She's gonna get killed or lose it. Or maybe she's the thing from the black box, and she'll accidentally leave her ring in someone's body she kills.
Also, the principal mirrors Leland being controlled by BOB so much.

The streaming is ass compared to HBOGO and I only use the on demand or watch it live on TV/DVR
Windom Earle is inquestionably the best part of season two, simply because what enshrouds the Deleuzian representation of negation in “The Black Lodge” is by nature (W)indom (E)arle. We, the pure ample aspiration, the capital v-Viewer are held fantastically in a grip of pleasure as "solicitude", certainty as “knowingness” and “The Black Lodge” as ontological blockchain/godhead. TMFAP is absolute fact in opposition but the baroque villainy of WE's (and any Lovecraftian) the same sin to die “now” as on the path to Madness. The conditional “It” (DC) creates nothing in response, Earle's own humanity is reflected in his oeuvre of disguise-personalities. (performed) To WE (& the normative Cooper &Briggs) the Implacability of unsure sentiment is Earle’s selfenforcing principle, pleasure--simplicity. In Palmer, the reprised intelligences move towards psychosomatic transgression. WE's sickness is symptom & myth unlike the Palmer daughter his active agent is not important, but “normal” and yet pronouncedly considerable as such, bidding. “We a the, of not can he.” The subject of Earle is in an undiluted terrace viewed viewers become wrote wonders, noting nothing Indian anyhow in the Black Lodge (negation).
Then, there’s Earle, the something coupling with Lodge entities, (call it “force”, of what? of course: illusion. – by since And because of supremacy In ALL perceptions, (rare & cloistered the issue may be) what we then Now view as reality, IS,) [in WE's] subjection a full picture. In an open letter to Kenneth Welsh “Windom Earle” one asks to which if not to want introduction (Mark Frost) gigantic of up wrote run life, (MF) introduction, revelation, dreams, & value system, (MF,MF,DL,MF) ie. AS Windom Earle hAS in the Black Lodge. (the rudimentary transition in S2 of Windom A into form Windom B.) I've seen a theory that the electrical pole is the earthly manifestation of the Arm tree moving around inconspicuously to feed on Garmonbozia and that's why we keep seeing the exact same pole in different locations.
>>83991857
When have we seen it in a different location?
>>83991945

>>83988820

>>83991857
Also what's with the 6? I remember the numbers already being a thing in FWWM, they show the 6 in the pole and then when Jeffries comes out of the elevator there's a 7 next to it.
>>83992036
rip wires
>>83992036
>>83991857
It's like the outdoor version of the ceiling fan. But it definitely channeled The Arm before, it made the sound that he sounded like in FWWM (the woops Indian noise from 2x22) when showing the pole and then cut to man from another place chilling in the waiting room or the room with the table or something. The woop woop woop noise can be heard again while Gerard/MIKE comes upon Leland in the car, possibly with the electrical wires helping to link Gerard to Arm for full powers (with audible feedback in the form of woop woop woop).
t. bitstreaming audio and digitally decoding with Yamaha chips in receiver with surround sound
>>83992036
It's the same location.
>>83992131
It's also likely that the Arm has to do with the electricity because having a midget that controls electricity was one of the ideas from Ronnie Rocket which he just ended up using in other stuff.
>>83992133
The Fat Trout in FWWM isn't anywhere near Twin Peaks.
>>83992170
Does BOB still have any of the stolen Garmonbozia that they linked up to get back? Leland threw out all that tummy blood but what about all the cans? Arm and Gerard are still teamed up, is Cooper part of their master plan to get back the corn?
>>83992131
But the Fat Trout in S3 is.
>You will never live in a cozy trailer on one of the twin "peaks"
Why go on?
>>83992291
Sounds like you just need a gold shovel to dig yourself out of the shit.
>>83992264
The sign says "New" Fat Trout, so it isn't the same place in FWWM just retconned to be closer. It's a completely different place so unless they moved that specific pole for some reason (and moved it to the intersection and not just to the new trailer park) then you're not making sense.
>>83992191
It's unclear what the spirits seem to be doing, to be honest, even with all the different interpretations of what the fuck garmonbozia even is. If anything, BOB had to sacrifice some he had in s03e03 in the car scene, and it fucked his disguise up for a while.

DIG YOURSELF OUT.

>>83992387

>>83992862
I agree. Deadly Premonition is far superior.
>>83992862
>>83992862
I don't agree but some aspects of it rub me off the wrong way. Whereas with Twin peaks the surrealism helped tell the story, in nu-Twin Peaks it's often just there for the sake of being there and fucking with the viewer. I don't expect to get an explanation for that purple ocean scene and what came after it.
Also, I liked the implied violence in Twin Peaks. Nu-Twin Peaks has explosive bouts of violence that give me Game of Thrones, violence-for-its-own-sake vibes. Did Ike the Pike need a 2-3 minute scene of him violently stabbing those three women? I wouldn't say so.
>>83990431
Is the tone really that different from the old series? It's been a really long time since I watched it but from what I remember it was pretty fucking disturbing/bizarre and not really comfy at all, other than maybe some parts of the second season when it veered off more into soap opera territory.
Lynch generally just doesn't do comfy.
>>83993114
New season basically feels a lot like a mix of Mulholland Drive and Inland Empire tone-wise but still does have humor.
>>83993114
It's very different. Original Twin Peaks was a comfy show without a doubt, and felt like both a soap opera and a parody of one at the same time. New Twin Peaks isn't like that at all, even when it's being humorous. Music also has a big impact, and it's completely different in the new season.
>>83992131
Makes sense because the Arm is a literal electric tree now. Which is, essentially, what a utility pole is.

>>83994332
glass box monster suddenly leaping accompanied by an extremely loud and hollow thump just about made me shit myself
the new arm is genuinely unsettling to look at. also the entire first fifteen minutes of episode 3, with coop in the purple realm with the blind lady, are fucking terrifying from editing technique alone.
>>83994304
I could see David doing a video game, it's pretty much the only medium he hasn't done and at one point he was meant to be adapting a Residents video game for television
>>83994389
Doesn't top the scary moments in season 1 / 2, though. That scene where BOB crawls over the couch is terrifying (and uses a slow build rather than a jumpscare).
Why does Laura Dern have a Walk of Fame star but not Kyle Maclachlan or hell, even Harry Dean Stanton?
>>83989114

>>83994449
>rather than a jumpscare
glass box monster isn't really a Jump scare... It's pretty obvious it's going to break through the glass after the first attempt
I'm in the black lodge right now
Ask me anything
I think BOB as well as Leland/BOB scenes were scarier because they contrasted much stronger with the general mood of the original 90's show, and also characters then were a lot more likeable so you actually feared for them. All the deaths in season 3, which already far exceeded seasons 1 &2's killcount, happen to unlikeable characters nobody cared about. That lad and his girlfriend getting gored up violently with terrifying auditory slicing was very scary to me, but I don't give a fuck about either of them. I wish that Lynch would either chill with the constant murders or make it actually impactful, but I won't be surprised if it's only going to escalate.
>>83991255
Lynch confirmed LH and TP are the same universe, I don't really care for the idea, just seems "cracked.com all tarantino movies are connected!" tier

>>83992993
I would say Ike is one of the few scenes where the violence was justified. The way the genuinely disturbing violence mixed with the laugh-out-loud absurdity of the scene really worked for me. It shows us that Ike is a psychotic berserker who can and will slaughter everyone between and around him and his target, but the overt humor makes Lynch's violence fetishism easier to accept.

that scene gave me such a massive boner
I wish Bowie lived for just one year longer. I read that he actually was planned to show up for the new season in some capacity. I'm assuming that they were already in post-production or final pick-up shots by the time Bowie died, and that he called off whatever cameo or appearance that was planned when he got the news that he's gonna bite the dust in about a year.

have you noticed they are completely different actors than when they try to kill douglas in the earlier episodes?
same thing for the dwarf assassin. When he appears for the first time in the buckhor\ruth davenport murder scene, he isn't even a dwarf, what the fuck

Harry Dean isn't bitter at all, he just hates people who kiss his ass. He's not interested in talking about work because it's just work to him.

He was awfully butthurt in that interview and it wasn't about his work, he was discussing his entire philosophical viewpoint and the guy's an edgelord

one of the dullest franchises in the history of TV franchises. Seriously, each episode following the boy FBI agent and his pals from Twin Peaks Sheriff Department as they fight assorted villains has been indistinguishable from the others. Aside from the gloomy imagery, the series’ only consistency has been its lack of excitement and ineffective use of special effects, all to make magic unmagical, to make action seem inert.
Perhaps the die was cast when Lynch vetoed the idea of Spielberg directing an episode; he made sure the series would never be mistaken for a work of art that meant anything to anybody, just ridiculously profitable cross-promotion for his meditation. The Twin Peaks series might be anti-Christian (or not), but it’s certainly the anti-James Bond series in its refusal of wonder, beauty and excitement. No one wants to face that fact. Now, thankfully, they no longer have to.
>a-at least FWWM was good though
"No!"
The writing is dreadful; the script was terrible. As I read, I noticed that every time a character went for a fire walk with me, the author wrote instead that the character "had the fury of his own momentum".
I began marking on the back of an envelope every time that phrase was repeated. I stopped only after I had marked the envelope several dozen times. I was incredulous. Lynch's mind is so governed by cliches and dead metaphors that he has no other style of writing. Later I read a lavish, loving review of Twin Peaks by the same Chris Carter. He wrote something to the effect of, "If these kids are watching Twin Peaks at 11 or 12, then when they get older they will go on to watch X-Files." And he was quite right. He was not being ironic. When you watch "Twin Peaks" you are, in fact, trained to watch X-Files.

No, it's totally new material. Most of the film takes place before Laura Palmer is killed, but there are also scenes that take place after the season 2 finale.

>>83995723
Shieeeet, just finished episode 1 of the new season and I gotta say, the show still continues to be unique as fuck. There's really nothing quite like it on TV. My only complaint is the forced exposition dialogue and the constant dropping of names for the sole reason of the dumb normies who can't keep track of things
>I understand Margaret
>Okay Margaret
>I understand Margaret
3 lines Hawk dropped one after another mentioning her name. We get it dude, she's called Margaret. I don't get why Lynch has to catter to these dumb faggots.

Yep. Also he revealed Gordon Cole will enter the Lodge via the glass box in New York and fist fight the creature we see in Episode 1, revealed to be Holy Jumpin' George™.
>>83996261
Hard to say so far but I can see it happening. Dougie is a bit funnier, though, and the scenes are enjoyable enough to watch. Still a massive disappointment - I thought e2/e3 was going to set the tone for the rest of the season, but I was wrong.

I always saw it as Jeffries as being outside of time, so when he enters that hallway time is stopped, at the same moment Cooper is in front of the camera
So coop is seeing himself frozen in time, with Jeffries able to travel in that frozen time.

It's worse. He first said no but later to their surprise accepted. Was about to film his scenes in January. Died before doing it.
