The Island had a "will" and a good side and a evil side. really it was a good show for like 2-3 seasons but when we realize that the producer has no plot planned out it wasn't fun anymore.

The island is the source of a mysterious energy which is the origin for all the good in humanity or people's souls or something. The whole show is basically Jacob attracting people to the island and appointing a new guardian or something.
