Jesse was always a piece of shit. A junkie that right from the start wanted to take advantage of his former teacher. He ruined everything he could, including his gf's life by getting her hooked on drugs again, which contributed a lot more to her death than Walt not saving her after they started blackmailing him.

But then the writers decided that Jesse being too much of a pussy to shoot someone is actually him growing a moral backbone. They started to portray him as some sort of martyr.

That is the whole deal with forrest gump. The ideal american is a fucking retard and a cuckold. Really makes you think.
