What a great genre. I like that number 1 but it's second to Five Easy Pieces imo.

>1. Two-Lane Blacktop Monte Hellman, 1971
Good
>2. Badlands Terrence Malick, 1973
Should be higher than 2 lane
>3. Sullivan’s Travels Preston Sturges, 1941
didn't watch
>4. Detour Edgar G. Ulmer, 1945
didn't watch
>5. Pierrot le Fou Jean-Luc Godard, 1965
Only a tryhard would rank it so high. It has great parts and memorable scenes but the quality isn't consistent. Plus it isn't really a road movie even if it has elements from the genre.

Didn't watch, doesn't seem to be your typical road movie though
>11. The Wages of Fear Henri-Georges Clouzot, 1953
Didn't watch
>12. The Last Detail Hal Ashby, 1973
Didn't watch

Riveting film but more of a thriller than a road movie even if it happens on a road
>20. Wanda Barbara Loden, 1970
Didn't watch

Amazing that classics like Vanishing Point or Easy Rider didn't make the list.
