Jesus Christ, man. You should at least understand that they couldn't do a show like Curb on network television at the time. Take the laugh track as part of the time-period. If you can't look beyond it, you are the uberpleb for sure.

The only comedy of its time-period that went off the laugh track was the Larry Sanders Show (which was ironically filmed on the same lot as Seinfeld, Garry Shandling being one of Jerry's best friends) but that show was 100% blazing new ground at the time and was completely revolutionary.

2. I wouldn't watch network television usually, but even of that genre, Fraisier was smarter. Ellen, even. The issue isn't the laughter, the issue is doing a piss-weak version of dark humor. I can see actual dark humor, why would I want something which is the equivalent of The Big Bang Theory to attempt it?

Let sitcoms be sitcoms, is the point. Nobody notices what's meant to not be corny about Seinfeld without being told what to look for beforehand, because the levels of anything interesting are homeopathically weak.

You notice when characters get their personalities reworked over the course of six episodes. Of course, the durations involved are so gruelling that it seldom seems worth the effort. You can't really predict the season's arc though, that's part of the beauty. Plus, you never really know what the ace in the hole aspect to the plot will come around at the end of the episode as a kind of ironic catharsis (signature move for LD).
