I just saw The Deer Hunter for the first time.
7/10
It could have been better if they shortened or cut a few unnecessary scenes. The best parts of the movie were the russian roulette scenes. Also Walken stole the show.

It has so many memorable scenes, not necessarily groundbreaking, just male camaraderie done very well and and captures the tight knit bonds of friendship that inevitably falter and crack throughout time.
