This is pretty much the Japanese equivalent to Se7en, but for me has a much more sinister and creepier premise.

A detective tracks the crimes of bizarre murders, with no connections between them. All the victims end up with an X carved into their chests, and they're all separate murderers to their respective incidents.

Strong use of sound and psychological horror / film noir elements that is strangely meditative in its atmospheric and dreamy horror. Highly recommended OP.
