Evil Coop is using the billionare from mullholand drive to try and stop coop. Initially he used his funds to create the glass box so at the exact moment that the entity in the glass box appears, Coop would appear there and immediately get murdered. Thus Bob would not have to return to the lodge.

The eyeless lady stops this though and he is saved yet again and replaced with dougie, which was also a contingency plan created by Bob in case his plan failed. He is with dougie now and with this information had sent assassins hired by lorraine to kill Coop. She did not kill him in the allotted time so he kills her and this connection is confirmed with the billionare and the envelope.

This means that Coop is now in danger because he knows that the other spirits of the lodge are trying to bring Bob back. Why? Because he has not returned in a long time denying Mike and the man from another place's gargambozia.

This to me is definitely what is happening.

Honestly, Twin Peaks: The Return is anything but a Season 3 of Twin Peaks. It's more of a movie sequel that's being released episodically. Since it's the beginning, too, they need to start making new subplots to start developing the story first.

I know this is hard to distinguish from a meme or shitpost, but I can say in earnest that despite the fact I miss the character season 1 and 2 made me love, the dougie scenes have merit, some of them are genuinely moving, some dark, and some hilarious.

Most of the dougie criticism lies in the fact you miss Coop, you're a Twin Peaks fan and Coop is half the reason, but if you put that out of your mind you'll be able to enjoy the dougie scenes for the gold they really are.

I've been waiting for Coop to resurface with as much anticipation as any fan, and will be slightly disappointed if he never resurfaces, but I'm not disappointed yet and I'll miss dougie when/if he goes.

This is an interesting theory, but I think the confidence Coop had in his abilities wasn't a clue to esp, rather something Lynch added so he could show the difference in early Coop and late season 2 Coop, Coop was designed to get fucked up by the events of twin peaks.
I think the lodge sfx are here now to give the viewer hope that if Coop returns, he'll have fulfilled Hawks statement of what is supposed to happen when someone overcomes the black lodge and reaches some higher form of being/knowledge. Whether this will happen I have no idea.

He can reply to this if I'm wrong.
The only thing people have agreed on is that names were connected that shouldn't have been, and that it implicates his co-worker that he called out for lying in foul play, possibly foul play Dougie was involved in.

Given the nature of his work and the bosses reaction, my money is on an embezzlement/fraud scheme, since the boss called it "disturbing" that could show it has been under his nose a long time, or involves people he respects and trusts, or perhaps that it's something more immoral and dark than fraud, such as intentional harm to people that caused death, for a profit.
That's what I've observed anyway.

Time in the Black Lodge is non-linear. This truly is Annie. How do you explain Cooper saying to Laura twice not to take the ring, especially when Cooper had never met Laura prior to that and never knew her because she died before they could even meet? Cooper obviously has no recollection of this for the simple reason because it happened from his perspective far later chronologically compared to Laura. Time just doesn't work like in real life. Anything's possible.
