I was pleasantly surprised.
The 'twist' had already been ruined for me, but it was still nicely done, and a pretty solid horror movie all together.
Its a shame all people can see in it is the whole forced racism shit that seems to be really popular the past couple years. They're missing out on something really decent.

I agree with the message (which is calling liberal elite that try so hard not to be racist but end up being racist anyways crazy) but the film itself is mediocre at best. Story was contrived and there was nothing scary about it, the cheap jumpscares in it did nothing to the story and were completely useless and got randomly thrown in with loud noises because "muh spooky movie". First off, the Grandpa ran at him at night because he loves to run. He was an Olympic runner who lost to Jesse Owens to compete in Germany (Alice's dad mentions this).

The story itself was pretty well written imo, lots of little details go over peoples heads and there are some subtle layers that make sense upon rewatches (like Alice covering a paper trail when they get pulled over).

Cool homage to The Stepford Wives too.
