I'm saddened by the disappearance of "middle" films, seems like there's nothing between soulless blockbusters and small films (progressist propaganda, self-indulgent arthouse or high-concept no-budget exploitation) anymore. Great old-fashioned films like Lost City of Z, Silence or Allied get ignored, because they're not virtue-signaling or gimmicky. Also seems like Spain and Korea are the only countries still attached to making populist genre films with a high level of artistry.

I've been thinking and I'm pretty sure Logan wouldn't have been so shit if it was pg13 instead of r18. There's so much shit that's been shoehorned and shoved in based on the r rating that the screenplay would've honestly been better and less contrived making for a more natural and coherent narrative that doesn't make me cringe at every blood splatter and f bomb.
