Just finished the movie then.
First thing I thought when it had Reynolds by the leg was don't agitate it, the organism reacted curiously every other time to stimuli except for when it was attacked/harmed.

Still had a chance of killing him for curiosity's sake but it was 100% going to kill him for harming it as proved twice beforehand.

Twist was cool but I saw it coming as soon as the escape pods launched and the camera shots made it vague as to who was in which pod.
