Never watch much of a show as a kid but the toys played a part in the show. Whenever something would flash on the screen the toys had a lightgun like design and firing at the glowing parts would do stuff.

I remember watching this in college, after the third season they altered the timeline to the point that it was basically a new show with the same characters. I respect shows willing to take that risk, especially since they never did end up restoring the original timeline.
