What was the best scene in Raimi's Spiderman trilogy?
>>
>>83791188
Nah the best scene is when he first uses his new web powers to hang a nigger from a tree.
>>
>>83791188
Not even joking but the jazz club scene in spiderman 3 is the best.
>>
>>83791188
The part when they showed the entirety of Birth of a Nation without any explanation.
>>
>>83791360
Lel, that would make the film 5 hours long
>>
>>83791213
Christ I don't remember that part but then again it did come out last century

>"You choose Spiderman! Either let the gondola of minorities drown, or I rape this redhead slut to death!"

>"You know Goblin, I think I've reconsidered your offer to join you. Think she can take two at the same time?"

Marvel of cinema, 10/10 watched the movie 4 times, especially loved how they let the minorities die anyways.
>>
Ignoring the stupid "HAHA RACISM" meme, probably either the "I'm Spiderman no more" scene or when Aunt May tells Peter than the world needs heroes after he quits.
>>
>>83791430
It was. You should be thankful Sony talked the madman out of inserting Song of the South as well.
>>

>>83791486
this too
>>
The funeral scene from sm1 is so great. Especially the transition into spidey swinging around
>>
dance montage
>>
The aftermath of the train fight in Spiderman 2, where the people promise to keep his identity secret.
>>
>>83791740
>He's just a kid
yeah it was great and perfectly encapsulates the character
>>
Does it bum anyone else out that Garfield butchered this series, and now Holland will too, but the kids will still pay to watch it?

They haven't captured the heart and emotion these originals had, makes me sad cus these were my first superhero movies I really loved.

This nearly got me when I first saw it, Sandman was the best part of this movie
>>
>Raimi's spiderman

>spidey 2 hobgoblin
>spidey3 when the credits roll
>>
>>83791740
It's gotta be this
>>
>>83791484
Man this scene was way different on the DVDs
>>
>>83791213
When will white America pay for its crimes. Damn, this shit happened so recently too
>>
The scene where Aunt May gives Peter some money for his birthday and Peter tries to refuse it but Aunt May starts crying because times are tough and she wants to do something for him despite this
>>
>>83792306
i forgot about this. there was some heart in this movie despite how bad the over all end result was.
>>
>>83792972
Any of the scenes with Peter and Aunt May were so touching.
>>
>>83792985
Studio forced Raimi to put Venom in when he strongly didn't want to. That was the core of everything wrong with S3.
>>
>>83792985
Like I said, Sandman was so sympathetic.

https://youtu.be/a1xPWjjFKF8
>>
>>83793022
Which is strange because thematically speaking Venom is perfect for Spider-man 3. It's SandMan who clogs up the works.
>>
>>83791188
My favorite scene was when Peter lets the white robber get away with robbing the jew. Jesus Christ, Raimi!
>>
>>83793132
Sandman was great though, they should have saved the Venom story for a part 4.

This would of been an incredible scene if he chose MJ over the kids and failed to save them... maybe a little too dark

>>83791188
When Uncle Ben dies, just like in the comics it is the most defining moment for all superheroes and captures the idea of Spider-Man and all costumed heroes very well. In a way, Spider-Man's devotion to justice can be seen as mental but he is THE superhero moreso than Superman who has to pretend to be a normal man.
>>
>>83793014
Even the sex scene?
>>
>>83791740
not trying to sound like a snob, but I thought it was stupid how they setup he needs to remove his mask just so they could have this scene.

>>83791901
It bums me out that ASM was a soulles retread with an awful villain, and 2 was a clusterfuck, but it doesnt sadden me that there will be a tonally different and modern Spider-Man who we will hopefully watch mature in sequels.
>>
>>83791740
this one, spidey jesus ftw
>>
>>83793321
What was stupid about it? I honestly can't remember how his mask got taken off, was it because it was damaged in the fight?

The main bit of that scene that gets me is the whole "he's just a kid," bit.
>>
>>83793321
Holland looks like shit, he's Iron Man's pet project, he won't come close to the emotion of these originals.
>>
>>83793390
It gets burned by the brakes getting fucked up.

>>83793392
I like Spider-Man and want more Spider-Man content, Sam Raimi didnt create the character and the fact is in a contemporary setting a young Peter Parker would act differently. Kevin Feige said the intention is to watch him grow over time. If test screeners are to believed Iron Man is handled tastefully as a figure he looks up to and not as overblown as the marketing leads us to believe. Something Raimi couldnt have captured in the originals is the fact that Spider-Man is not alone, he originally looked up to the Fantastic Four which was Marvel's most popular hero at the time so this isn't a new thing Marvel is doing. Only casuals will be upset about it. Pic related, Spider-Man as a new character relying on more popular characters to drive sales. Capeshit 101

I honestly loved how mary jane looked at peter parker/spiderman at the end of SP2, that realization that he was who he was was really nice.

Overall Raimi's spiderman movies had several touching moments

His aunt is such a nice old lady too.

"aunt may, aunt may!, is that an angel?"

really special

memes aside I always loved this quote.

>He knows a hero when he sees one. Too few characters out there, flying around like that, saving old girls like me. And Lord knows, kids like Henry need a hero. Courageous, self-sacrificing people. Setting examples for all of us. Everybody loves a hero. People line up for them, cheer them, scream their names. And years later, they'll tell how they stood in the rain for hours just to get a glimpse of the one who taught them how to hold on a second longer. I believe there's a hero in all of us, that keeps us honest, gives us strength, makes us noble, and finally allows us to die with pride, even though sometimes we have to be steady, and give up the thing we want the most. Even our dreams.
>>
>>83795002
Unpopular truth. Namely the last sentence.

But Raimi did an amazing job with those first two films. Among the best in the genre.
>>
Maybe not my favorite scene but top 5 atleast, is when doc ock sacrifices himself to save the city. Hes a man of reason and when finally confronted with the reality of the situation, he does the right thing, using sheer willpower to overcome the unihibited arms, a real triumph of the will

>i will not die a monster
>>
>>83794236
>Dunst's performance was flat and dull.
I disliked her screams but overall i really liked her ^^

seriously, don't you remember the high school scenes, their encounters in downtown or sp2, overall, it was a fairly good portrayal, adk
>>
>>83791213
Personally I like the scene where Peter stops the second plane from missing the WTC by slinging it back onto its collision course with his web
>>
>>83791901
These Spiderman movies were actually objectively pretty shit though. They were early superhero movies that didn't really know how to translate the concept to a live action movie. Xmen 1 and 2 were the same in that weird era. Remember how shit Hulk 1 was? Same concept

Say what you will about modern Marvel but they understand the right mix of realism and fun. Early 00s comic book movies were a clusterfuck

Or the Birth of Sandman scene in Spider-Man 3.
https://youtu.be/WZZEtolFzFI
The music telling the story trope will always be my favourite; but that's the GOAT in my opinion.
>>
>>83795793
Difference is Hulk was DOA. But everyone praised the First two movies in the SpiderMan XMen and Blade trilogies.
It's like saying Citizen Kane or Episode V is overrated crap because you've seen the ending. It was good at the time.
>>
>>83795489
That is also a very good scene as well.
>>
>>83794332
It was a deleted scene. They removed it because JK Simmons was so buff he actually looked good in the costume, when the intention was for him to be an unfit middle-aged man who looked ridiculous in it.
>>
>>83793072
>>83794156
>>83796231
I think Raimi nailed the villain transformation scenes. (Sans Harry and Venom)
I even like when Dafoe mugged at the camera through a mirror. Iwould have loved to see his take on the Lizard. Especially with the missing arm and the seperated family.
>>
>>83793225
Sandman is great. Save that shit for the fourth one.

That third movie is all about confronting your inner demons and overcoming them. Sandman's story is a weird retcon-y 'everyone's got a story' thing.
>>
>>83791188

>This suit is pretty good, it could do with a white pointed hood though.

Seriously, Raimi?
>>
>>83793941

>Aunt may, aunt may! Is that man made out of chocolate?

Is it just me or was this line a bit too far?
>>
>>83791188
The first 20 minutes of Spider-Man 2 is the absolute essence of the character:

Dreaming about a girl, late for work, side-tracked by superheroing, that fucking broom closet gag, getting fired for being unreliable, birthday party at May's with friends, May forcing money on him.

THE FUCKING BEST!

I need to rewatch it right now.

Something with Aunt May or Doc Ock.

Okay yeah, I would say it's either the "There is a hero in all of us." speech, or the bank / clocktower / train fight.
>>
I have to say, the train fight was amazing, but then it cuts to this very strange crossover and I am trying my hardest to wrap my brain around what the fuck Raimi was thinking? Like, yea they have to use cgi for stuff and sometimes its really noticeable but honestly what the fuck?

>>83796446
>ooh, cold!

>>
>>83793132

The sand man scene where he comes back from sand is probably top cgi tier amongst t2, and the matrix. Other than that, fairly forgettable. That spider man was too soft spoken. They haven't really found anyone with a spider man personality.
>>
>>83795957
fucking kino. Are superhero movies even trying anymore?

Any scene where he's just webslinging through the city. Raimi was better at conveying the grace and energy of swinging than Webb.

This thread makes me sad that we'll never have another capeshit series like Raimi's Spidey but happy it happened at all.
It's full of some really great dramatic moments, light hearted comedy that's not quippy when Pete isn't being Spider-Man, top tier action, a great cast of actors, even some romance that isn't corny and is quite complex and even a scene that feels like it's been pulled straight from a horror movie.
It has nearly everything.

When Peter sang the Southern Battle Cry of Freedom at Ben's funeral.
>>
There's a deleted scene where peter reminisces about Uncle Ben. The memories begin innocently enough. Uncle Ben fixing scraped knees and what not, typical father figure stuff. But slowly, as the scene progresses you start to get the sense of something being off. Before long the audience, as well as Peter himself begin to realize that Uncle Ben was grooming him to take over his position within his local KKK chapter. It is at this point that Peter realizes that Uncle Ben's Great Power=Great Responsibility speech was actually an allusion to the white man's burden. Raimi is a master craftsman of subversion of expectation, truly a legend in his field.

Jesus Christ, why movies like that aren't made anymore? You can compile all capeshit movies from two fucking decades without finding a better movie than the first two Raimi's Spider-Man. It's like the movie makers want to make sure there's not a single drop of humanity and inspiring story telling before releasing the fucking movie. It's unlikely that the new Spider-Man movie will manage to ever top this, or almost any capeshit movie in the next 10 years.

Why did Spider-Man say that?
>>
>>83804016
Because Raimi is a fucking madman that's why. He can't make an actual SPIDERMAN movie without putting his twisted political ideology into it. His trilogy borders on criminally offensive. I'm glad they cut most of these scenes and re-recorded the dialogue for the versions they show on TV every now and then, and that Disney eventually bought Marvel.

You're actively wrong. They might not be 100% comic loyal (those leather suits in X-Men), but they are well done movies. Not just technically, but they gave heart to them. Real emotion.

Head and shoulders above most Marvel stuff. Iron Man 1 & 3, The Winter Soldier, and arguably Civil War (the airport fight is stupid, but Cap & Bucky fighting Iron Man was good)
