Why did this movie flop so bad when the other 2 did pretty good?

Series is called Star Trek.

Set the entire movie on one boring planet with only one set that looks like a Universal Studios attraction.

It deserved worse.

Because it sucks, plain and simple. It's simply not worthy of the Star Trek franchise.
