Was he even really a bad guy?
>>
>has the power to make people do what he tells them to do
>tells people to kill themselves
Basically, yeah.
>>
He had a useless power. There are literally security cameras and ATM cameras and satellites and drones and streetlight mics watching everyone all the time now and this isn't even considering sousveillance. There's no way he would get away with his actions without being noticed and then contained. Shit power, unrealistic villain. Might have worked in the 1970s or whenever he was created by a pervert.
>>
>>83760636
Except his power doesn't legally put him in any trouble. Just because he tells someone to do something and they do it doesn't make him liable for their actions.
>>
>>83760676
Yeah except the intelligence community doesn't consider legality and is always already on the lookout for weird behavior/responses in order to detect unknown technological developments or even magic. Your limited imagination allows you to accept that this stupid character could operate openly in 2017.
>>
>>83760608
He didn't know that it was wrong.
>>
>>83760676
Tell that to the man who had this power irl who disappeared after J Edgar Hoover managed to track him down
>>
>>83760736
It would literally only matter if the person was under duress, and it would be impossible to prove that since he doesn't even carry a weapon. He just says things and people do it. There is no way he could be held responsible for anything anyone does.
>>
>>83760577
Dumas civil war was much better , the graphics climatic fight intensity "emotions" and dc failed to satisfy comic book fans
>>
>>83760759
Ignorance is not an acceptable defense when it comes to law.

What he was doing might have been slightly illegal but that doesn't make him a bad person. He already showed that he wasn't against the idea of becoming a hero if Jessica was with him.
>>
Was it ever explained why JJ was immune to his power of suggestion? It felt like it was such a bullshit copout way to deal with it.
>>
>>83760820
So when SDIAICCS analytics detects anomalous behavior after his first pheromone command session in front of a networked camera and enhances analysis on this fucking retard for everything else he does and figures out his gimmick and presents a neat report to the humans in charge why do you think he will still be allowed to operate especially when other enhanced humans exist in the universe?

At the very least you need a MacGuffin hidden operative obfuscating on his behalf. He can't exist just on his own because he would be detected and contained. Period. This is my final post ITT.
>>
>>83760966
Probably just became immune from prolonged exposure to it. Purple Man controls people using a virus, so her being around him constantly combined with her having actual powers probably made her develop an immunity faster.
>>
He never really had a chance at being a good guy in the first place. I can't imagine he really had much of a baseline for ever really caring about people when literally everyone just does whatever he says probably about as far back as he remembers. Still his attempt at being a decent person showed that he would go back to being a dick as soon as there was any problems, and he was undeniably destructive to everyone around him
>>83760676
Spraying mind control pheromones (even unconsciously) or whatever the fuck his power does could probably change legal interpretation to some sort of claim of him forcing shit, but his super power is probably the best example of one that people will lock you up and dissect you for
>>
>>83760577
he was. unfortunately he just was not interesting, he was a petulant child whos powers made his brattyness into evil, like that kid from chronicle
>>
>>83760676
Im not sure what the word is but its "crime by proxy" like if you tell a 10 year old or a retard to steal for you and they do it, you are the one going to jail.
>>
>>83760769
Can I get a quick rundown of this?
>>
>>83760877
it is, but only when the damage from your accusations is nonexistent or insignificant
>>
>>83760769
wait what man?
>>
>>83760966
did not she need headphones in the end?
>>83761166
>He never really had a chance at being a good guy in the first place.
bull. he had books and tv to teach him
>>
>>83760676
There's a trial right now about a girl who pressured her depressed boyfriend to kill himself (google Michelle Carter), so its not like he'd get off scot free were the facts known about his powers
>>
>>83761488
What would books or television really count for compared to every single personal experience that contradicted it?
>>
>>83761548
I know people who pulled it off
>>
>>83761488
She became immune to his powers after she killed Rava. Kilgrave knew, but kept it from her until she figured it out herself when she managed to disobey his command later when he accidentally gave one.
>>
>>83760877
I don't know about in the states, but in Canada it can be. Ignorance can be a defense if there was a mistake of circumstance, but cannot be used if there was a mistake of law. If you were ignorant on what day with was and did something prohibited on that day, you could use that as a defense. If you were just ignorant of the law itself, you can't be.

He would fit right in here.
>>
>>83761498
Suicide is not a crime. She's on trial for causing the death of another person, not for coercing them to break the law.
>>
>>83760983
what the fuck are you even talking about. You don't even have any proof any of that exists.
>>
>>83761434
If they can't prove your forced them you won't.
>>
>>83760577
is that the 10th Doctor? He's a good guy desu
>>
>>83761498
That was more about her pressuring him into it. If she just happened to say it once and he did it, it would be a completely different story.
>>
>>83760966
It was a domestic abuse allegory. Battered wives will continually go back to their abusing husbands agaain and again no matter the terrible things they do, because they are still under their control even when they know it's bad for them. The only way to escape is to decisively break that toxic connection, leave and never look back.

Him making her kill Luke's gf was the straw that broke the camel's back. He'd made her do horrible shit and done awful things to her, but that was the thing that made it possible for her to ecape and never look back.

exactly, otherwise this guy would be in jail as we speak
>>
>>83760577
He was a psychopath who wilfully used his power to hurt people. His "I don't know any better" crap was just another lie. He absolutely was a bad guy.
>>
>>83760769
???

Then why wasn't Hillary Clinton prosecuted?

>the law doesn't account for superpowers
Who would've thought
>>
>>83764381
Jessica Jones is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With so many superpowered people around I'd imagine the laws, at least at a local or state level were amended to account for superpowers. Especially after Inhumans started popping up all over the place
>>
>>83760676
>Except his power doesn't legally put him in any trouble. Just because he tells someone to do something and they do it doesn't make him liable for their actions.

This is A grade level Autism right here. He isn't just telling someone to do something and they so happen to do it. He's fucking directly controlling them physically against their own will.
>>
>>83763857
Same reason Trump hasn't been impeached. It's not illegal to be a fucking idiot.
>>
>>83764466
I'd like to see you prove that beyond a reasonable doubt in court
>>
>>83764521

Measure the pheremones and shit. It can be scientifically measured because it physically exists. Did you even watch the fucking show?
>>
best MCU villain
