ITT: Obscure war films

This has been sat on my shelf for years and I've had zero inclination to watch it. What makes it good?

I'm not massive on war films in general but I love the big 3 Nam films, Thin Red Line and Bridge on the River Kwai.

It's a neat little film. Low budget but still a good story and a nice little skirmish at the end.

Bridge over the River Kwai is a great obscure war movie. I didn't know that Japan fought on land in Asia like that too.

Come and See-1985 russian ww2 film. It's the most horrific and raw depiction of war I've ever seen.

It's horrible. Just a generic action film with no redeeming aspects whatsoever. The beginning was nice, but then it becomes laughable.
