Will horror ever make a comeback?
Not for a while.
No fictional monster can compare to the real life horror of a Drumpf presidency

Not as long as they keep making it for a Millennial and Gen Z audience.
Only if it reinvents itself.
I hope not tbQh, sorry OP
She is getting the mark.

not as long as they keep making haunted house movies with a family and little gir/boy seeing the ghost first and the parents not believing them at first thinking their kid has some issues but then it turns out there is a ghost and they call some "ghost experts" and then some retarded ending happens

it's in the midst of doing so, the 10's have produced far more creative and quality horror movies than the 00's ever did. i think it's a genre that will continue to evolve and mature because there are so many ways to make people uncomfortable. horror fell down because it was becoming so formulaic and we still see those crappy big studio "le scary little girl haunted house" movies released like twice a year, but there are far more original ideas being pumped out and enjoyed.
i hope comedy is the next genre to be revitalised
slashers are done for
zombies same thing
cheap thrills à la blair witch are saturating
good body horror are rare
the genre needs a new lode desu, it is extremely formula prone
