FvJ was stupid but probably better than we deserved given how terrible both series got. 5 is great smut even if you can't get over the fact that Jason isn't in it. 6 is waaaaay overrated--no tits, no crazy gore, bloodless Jason death. 7 has best outfit but was largely neutered. I saw it in the theater and was kind of disappointed. Then I watched it during my October F13 fest a few years in a row and I gravitated toward its better parts. The opening stuff is good, Jason's Vietnamese tunnel system is neat, it does a good enough job capturing the atmosphere (like the first Texas Chainsaw remake), and its chock full of blood and tits.

Curious, what draws you to Jason Lives the most? I grew up watching these when I was 7, so the tits and gore and creepy atmosphere were what turned me on about the series. My first impression of the campy stuff as a kid was that it wasn't as entertaining.

I feel like this one gets more hate than it deserves. Yes, I get that it's disappointing that they don't spend that much time in New York, I get that you feel lied to about it. However, the cruise ship scenes, while boring, aren't bad, and work as a good build-up to the Manhattan stuff, and the Manhattan stuff is genuinely good. I'm not arguing that this is the best Friday the 13th, but it's far from the worst. At worst, it's a mid tier Friday.

From all the deaths in the series, I felt the worst for Chewie in FT13(2009) I mean fuck. Imagine slowly getting stabbed in the neck, only for you to die by choking on your own blood. What the fuck was Jason's problem?
