Anyone can interpret the meaning of the movie but the sequence of events + what's real/fantasy is all laid out. There is only one scene where it's ambiguous if it is real or not and that's the man behind winkies.

True. I don't think the other guy appears in the scene though which is odd because all of the fantasy characters come from her shitty real life experiences. It suggests that the winkies scene is real and since diane wasn't there for it she couldn't put the other guy in her fantasy. Regardless, i prob should have said it's the only scene that doesn't fit into the timeline of events instead of it being unclear if real vs fantasy.
