Pam is the worst.

It's kind of brilliant how subtly the show obfuscates this point only to drive it home in later seasons. She's needy & dependent, emotionally dishonest & immature, and masks a vapid sense of entitlement with her disarming plain Jane appearance.

If you had a buddy like Jim who was an all-around awesome guy who had a ton to offer and you saw him pining over a girl like that, you'd tell him he was fucking crazy and that she was absolutely nothing special.
