What did you think of HBO's From the Earth to the Moon?
I like it. Band of Brothers set the standard for big budget tv series and this came out three years before so it has this old school tv feel if you know what I mean.
It's a nice sequel to The Right Stuff and goes well with Apollo 13 (same people made it anyway). I really like the classical period of NASA which ended with Apollo-Soyuz test project. Too bad we didn't see that.

Right Stuff, A13 and FTETTM all shared the same production team?

But don't expect a real thread here. People don't like adventure. Only cape.

RIP Ed White. Sad to think he was dead within about eighteen months of this pic.

Tom Hanks was involved in From the Earth to the Moon and Apollo 13. Reminds me of Saving Private Ryan/Band of Brothers which had a similar situation only that was Spielberg and Hanks.
And the episode about A13 focused on the news coverage on Earth because the main story has been told in the movie.

Best episode? Just finished We Have Cleared the Tower, which was good but unfortunately didn't show us any of the crew's orbital mutiny.

I don't think I remember but I loved the one about Apollo 12 because before I watched it I was a bit afraid that they won't show just how funny this expedition was. But they did. In fact I'm only a bit disappointed that they never showed the Fallen Astronauts monument or Charlie Duke's family photo.

I absolutely love it, it's pretty amazing in retrospect all the top tier actors they got for one miniseries and the late 90s effects still largely hold up.

The next string of episodes are the best
1968, Spider and the one after that are all excellent
Btw maybe someone here could tell me why John Young is so weird?
