he needs to be in a spider-man movie to shine, and he needs to be the main threat, not some 3rd tier character in a raimi movie shoved in by the producers

Because the idea of having a "Venom" movie with no connection to Spidey is bound to fail, as the very nature of the character is linked to its relationship with Peter.

Venom is what it is because it originated from Spidey, that's why it has the same power, that's why it looks like what it does.

If it had entered in contact with virtually anyone else, it would be drastically different.

If those rumors about LIFE being a Venom prequel would have been true it would have blown normies' brains away. It could've easily kickstarted the whole Venom franchise.
