Metropolis, The Buster Keaton Collection, and The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, are Kino Lorber.
>>83713672
Kino Lorber is shit. Crappy cover designs and inferior AV.
Just buy a region free Oppo and import the Eureka MOC version you filth.
>>83712093
pretty jelly of that out 1 box, is it in any way worth the $$$ if i've already seen both cuts of the film?
>>83713758
Still barely any don't just let Criterion dictate what cinema is to you.
>>83713771
Kino is great. But that is a good idea
>>83713797
The book that comes with it I thought was really good. I haven't watched the documentary yet, so I can't say anything about it.
>>83712069
>L'avventura sorted under L instead of A
>L'eclisse sorted under L instead of E

tell me about yourself op, i am curious the demogrpahic for this kind of rampant consumerism. how old are you, what do you do for a living, what are your favorite films, do you have other hobbies?

all blu ray? pretty strong collection lots of variety
>>83712069
Very good. Needs more anime.
>>83715493
All except the Laurel and Hardy box. I'm using those as a bookend right now.
>>83714331
I'm about to be 21. I work in a theater, and my favorite movie is probably 12 Angry Men. Not too many hobbies. I work and come home and watch movies and TV, or play vidya. It's actually something I've been trying to work on changing. I've been saving more money. I don't take college classes right now, and I'm not sure I ever will, but it's good to be putting money aside.
Not a bad collection of criterions Tbh. You need The Complete Jacque Tati and Make Way for Tomorrow.
>>83716198
yikes. how long have you been collecting? that's a lot of money down the drain. how much use do you actually get out of your blu rays?
>>83712069
Really nice collection OP, I'm jealous. Is Children of Paradise good? Was thinking of blind buying it during the next sale
what about my collection?

I bet you never rewatch any of that.
>>83717185
This. I'd be curious to know how often you actually watch your collection OP.

Nice horror and cult collection
>buying movies in 2017
It's like you never heard about based YIFI
>watching movies in 2017
It's like you never heard about based vidya
>>83712093
>rivette boxset
fucking fag, that's nice
how much was it?
>>83716336
I have the Tati box.
>>83716610
I've been buying these and getting them as gifts since I was about 15. I get enough out of them that I feel good about it, in addition to the joy of watching the collection grow, and not having movies tied to an account.
>>83716705
Children of Paradise is pretty great. I love the directing style. French movies from that era I tend to really love.
>>83717855
I think it was about $60 brand new.
>>83717956
>I think it was about $60 brand new.
that's not too bad
have you seen petit a petit?
also what do you think of out 1?
>M-muh hipster kino films
Fuck off, cunt.
anyone got the pic of that guy who had 20 copies of Spring Breakers all in different labels and packages?
>>83718034
I haven't seen that, no.
Out 1 was very interesting. Some parts are really hard to get through, especially in the first episode. It's super slow moving, but I watched the whole thing over two days, and overall I liked it. Jean-Pierre Leaud is really good in it. I'm interested in watching the shorter cut at some point.
>>83718103
hope this is b8
>>83718257
specter is weird af
i know johnathon rosenbaum loves it but it felt unecessary to me. if you treat out 1 as a minseries the way it was first conceived i don't think it's in need of much editing at all. sure some of the rehearsal scenes drag on (they are supposed to) but specter cuts entire subplots out. from memory juliet berto's character's arc is completely unresolved in specter. why?
i watched specter shortly after finishing the full series though. perhaps i should give it another shot now that the complete out 1 is out of my head and i can take it more as its own work
whats wrong with having a hard copy for a movie granted 9/10 once u watch it u wont watch it again but you arent held hostage if your comp crashes or the site goes down.
>>83714096
Good to know you went straight for the capeshit
wat country is the thing 2 disc collection from? the original and john carpenters?
>>83718458
I think that's the way. People always say that they are two separate works, not just an edited down version of the real movie.
>>83718585
It's Carpenter's and Thing 2011.
>>83718103
You should checkout /r/movies. I think you'd really enjoy it
Brazil Bro here

Optical media is for luddites tho
>>83718978
wtf is that Citizen Kane box art
>>83719059
Is the 70th anniversary one, I hated it, but the blu ray was cheaper than the DVD one, who had a much better cover.
>>83718978
great taste, i wonder why /tv/ is still a shithole
plenty of people here like arthouse
