Sean Astin was kind of in a weird spot in that group. Elijah Wood was by far the youngest and I don't think he was even 18 yet when they started production. Dominic Monaghan is like five years older so it makes sense that they would be close. It must have been kind of weird for Sean that Elijah grew up knowing him from The Goonies.
