He would have been sucked into the cold dead vacuum of space, right?

There's a shield there I think

In Halo your boots are magnetic or whatever. Maybe the same applies here? The Empire is more advanced.

*Forced
Get it?
Like Force?
>>83704388
so far this is the only remotely satisfying answer and dubs confirm

Vader uses the Force to even stand and walk.
Maybe he used even more Force to stay grounded?

What causes objects to be "sucked" out of a plane or spacecraft with a breach is the explosive escape of the air inside the craft as it moves from its high pressure containment to the outside. Where Vader is standing in that pic, there is no suction because the air has already escaped.

There is supposedly a shield to block the space vacum but they could make it more visible.

imagine being the cigar in that scene

the door is right open, do you mean to tell me that all atmosphere from the ship has been sucked out, despite the rebels making their escape through the corridors just seconds ago?
>>83705354
space wizard and magic aint gotta explain shit
wait till he shows up in the nu wars somehow
>>83705145
This is the correct answer. Ship bays in sw are sealed by shields. After the ship launches the shield reactivates and the dock is refilled/pumped with oxegen.

No need to suck the atmosphere from all the ship. Vader was clearly seen pursuing the rebels through corridors. As long as the door behind him was closed it only need one room to be emptied of its air
