Brazil depicts a futuristic society where everything became needlessly complicated to the point of not working at all, terrorism has become a daily occurence everyone just kinda tries to ignore, the government is both repressive and incompetent and the only way to escape from it is by going crazy.
I always tbought it had a pretty good grasp on where the worls was going.
