Was this suposed to be a The Thing Sequel?
It's Alien and The Thing compressed into one movie, and set underwater because it was cool at the time.

could've been a great sequel thing though with less cheesiness

I think it's more Alien underwater, even if there are obvious similarities to The thing.
I like that movie, though the ending should have been in a cheesy action movie...but i think it shows how Dino De Laurentis couldn't care less.

>Dino De Laurentis
was he the producer?

Yes

Actually, it was Luigi and Aurelio, but i'm guessing he was still around to check if everything was ok.

Very cool apparently. Leviathan, DeepStar Six, The Evil Below and Lords of the Deep all released in 1989 and where all underwater horror films. Still boggles my noggin after all these years.

Leviathan is the most watchable though.
>hey, this poster is lacking something, add a girl wearing a thong and cut-off tank top
>uh, nothing like that is in the movie
>shut up, do it
I was so disappointed by the lack of hot bitches walking around in that getup.
