I'm an extra in a couple things, before my first time on set my agency stressed to me that if you look at camera, fuck up your extra speak (That weird word soup you have to talk to look like a natural conversation is happening) or ruin a take somehow you're basically costing the production tens of thousands of dollars and maybe ruining the best take, so be extra careful.

Extras are constantly removed from sets and sent home for fucking shit up.

I've been an extra in a bunch of shit over the last decade. They film a lot in my city because film companies get a lot of tax breaks and extras don't have to be unionized. It's only $8/hr (time and half after 8 hours) but you literally just sit there and get paid to look at your phone until they need you.
