He would have made the trenchcoat look good
The real kino would have been Agent Smith played by Will Smith
he would have done a rap for the credits and there would have only been one movie
>>83614549
keanu was the better choice, im glad will rejected the role.
The current year.
/pol/ would have flipped out

oh god no
>>83614714
he also rejected django unchained
if he didn't act anymore films would be better overall
>>83614549
It would have felt even more like a ripoff of Blade, the only things to set them apart would be his wisecracking persona (instead of Keanu's WOAH dude), and the Matrix setting.
Neo would have talked a lot more
will smith might have pulled it off, but keanu plays a better fish out of water imo.
>>83614549
He would havemade me a sandwich.
>so you saying
>we in some kinda matrix or sumthin?
>>83614549
I really can't see him doing the deadpan as well as Neo. And, yes, Neo being utterly collected and seemingly devoid of warmth when he's plugged-in makes perfect sense. We know the Matrix world is less real to him even though he's (perhaps) the most powerful entity within in. It's all a charade and he can actually see it.
>yfw the architect is played by uncle phil
We would have gotten one incredible flick with no autistic sequels

A big part of the series' charm is that everything about it is ridiculous but the characters are all dead-ass serious about what's going on in their goofy universe. Will Smith would have completely ruined that dynamic.
>>83614978

Not a perfect movie, but his performance in it was great.

him, really all those films largely work because of him, it would be impossible to replace him in those films, they would become something completely different

I was just about to berate for that, then I checked with Google. Why is it called that? Haven't seen the movie
>>83619219
even as a kid, and Matrix 1 I was about 14 so idk 16 or something for reloaded, even then that 1000 smith scene looked awful
>>83619258
I vaguely recall seeing it as graffiti in that movie
I guess it was misspelled there.
>>83614549
It would have had a rap based theme song and corresponding music video with agents joining in the choreographed dance.
It would have been fucking great.
>>83618218
Tommy Lee Jones was the perfect dry humor straight man in MiB.
>>83619287
I guess you do have a point, still
>>83619287
All I remember about Matrix 2 when leaving the theater was talking to my friend about the religious symbology and implications of 1 & 2 while my christian parents grew increasingly awkward and sweaty.
>>83619582
they created a demi-god by the end of 1 and had nowhere to go with it until the blinding, imo they should have had smith introduce a virus or something that fucks with Neos connection to the matrix and makes him more vulnerable
>>83619376
It was, in fact Will Smith's character even complains about the misspelling at the start.
>>83619625
yea I do remember discussing the architects speech with friends for weeks afterwards
I miss the times when Smith was huge. His older movies where really comfy. Now we are stuck with his autistic son.
I'm sure Will rejected it because it was too dark and serious cuz if he had been it the film would have been really boring because it would be Will not doing his shtick or it would have turned into a B-movie with Will Smith cracking jokes
>>83614549
Everyone would notice the forced diversity.
>>83619710
Not even that. He's has his head up his ass with all of these Oscar bait movies.
>>83619710
Can we talk about how weird the smiths are?
I know celebrities give children weird names but nobody seems to call them out.
Idk why but when I listen to that Men in Black song I get sad

>Switch: Originally written to be trans
>Tank: Black & Chinese
>Dozer: Black
Other characters : 4 white dudes (2 of them evil) and 2 woman, one of which was trans.
Try harder, the cast was already culturally diverse. Nobody would have given a shit, especially since Will Smith was so beloved at the time he was practically white himself.

>>83614978
Matrix is called out for being a ripoff of everything, Ghost in the Shell, Neuromancer, etcWhich is actually because of what T.S. Eliot said about how great artists create their own influences and how a work of art affects its predecessors, as after the success of Matrix we look back and find new value in the works that composed what made Matrix great, but I'm just a nerd.
lol will smith is a better actor by far. by so much. phenomenally better
>>83619837
they gave their children the opposite male/female father/mother names. not really weird, but creative.

Morpheus was originally offered to Sean Connery. But he claimed he didn't understand it.
Then he was offered Gandalf in Jackson's LOTR. He denied it cause as he put it "didn't understand it".
Then he made league of extraordinary gentlemen. Which apparently he understood.
Keanu was more relatable to white tech minded individuals. I believe it wouldn't be as pop cultured as it was.

from a grey cubicle i was discovered

there was little red pill, and a little blue pill,
not the kind yo mama gave you when you was ill.
Like a pink goo phoenix i rose and got lit,
time to take on some machines with the first hit.
but let me stop before I get a head,
I learnt kung fu and have bullet time cred.
