I was really kinda sad he didn't beat up Jimmy or make him gain respect for Bill, besides just making them even by taking him to the hospital.
I figured the whole Bill falling off the good boy path, skipping school etc. was leading to a fight with Jimmy where he'd actually win.
He did actually try to stand up to him on the snowy hill but just got his t-shirt yanked over his face and gut punched.
