Did you guys see how she writes emails when she was working on new MLP movie?

Its good that Hasbro broke the deal with Sony and her retarded influnece didn't come to fruition or we would have another "3d cartoon visits New York" movie this summer.

>>
>>83558652
That's only the production budget. The marketing budget for that film would have been around $200 - 300 million considering it's Sony.
>>
>>83559148
Good, as far as vodka goes.
>>
>>83558825
The role of the producer doesn't always imply someone who puts up money for a movie to get made. With these type of large budget films it's the studios that do that. Most producers are just people who manage a film production at a macro level, and their responsibilities range from hiring crew, picking out the script, managing the budget, dealing with the marketing, overseeing the progress of the film, making sure it is completed on time, taking care of the post-production work, etc. Also, it is interesting to note that in a lot of cases people are given the "producer" credit when they've helped write the script, or pitched the initial idea, but didn't contribute enough to be given the writer credit. It's hard to really tell just how much involvement Dan Akroyd had in his role as executive producer, but most likely he was given the credit because he owns the rights to the original story. It's highly unlikely that he had any financial stake in the film.
>>
>>83558840

That's why he bashed Feig. Out of all the things that went wrong, Feig's poor financial decisions are the only thing he can criticize without losing his (admittedly limited) position in Hollywood. It's not an easy game, friend. No how matter how frustrated he's been, he can't reveal it to the public (or anyone who would tell the public) without putting his career in jeopardy.
>>
>>83560800

I felt for him though. They were putting out a movie with his name on it when he ultimately had very little say in the final product.

I'd have been tempted to get that fact out there to the public too. Granted most of the major problems with the movie were his fault and making Johnny Storm black was his idea, so I didn't feel too much for him.

Compare the marketing for Ghostbusters to Wonder Woman

>WW had discounts and toys packaged in with DVDs at Wal-Mart
>For example, buying a $5 DVD of "Batman Returns" got you $5 off a ticket for Wonder Woman
>Or you got a WW figurine, or a headband wrapped around the DVD
>Only outrage came when they did all-female screenings, and it was heavily blown out of proportion
>Less ads (Probably because of the spend on free knock-knacks)
>It was a good movie

>Ghostbusters
>Two SNL castmembers to shill it to their liberal friends
>Loads of well-maintained curated internet outrage
>AVGN got lambasted because he said "You know what? I don't think it looks good. I'm not gonna see it."

It can be seen two ways. They're clearly leaving money on the table. They're incentivizing people to watch it. Does that mean the film is bad? Or do they feel its needs to be given a chance? As a DC tentpole starring a woman (who isn't Batman), it's a tough call

He had bad experiences with men as a kid and then got taken in and given companionship by women

I'm serious. I don't know him personally but that really seems to be his angle.

He says "I just don't find men funny because it's just crude humor like poop jokes" but that
1. Is complete nonsense
2. Was half of the humor in Ghostbusters.

He has some kind of deep-seeded distrust for masculinity.

Poor guy. Doin the best with the resources he's got, like all of us.

>>83558294

I'm guessing one of these was the infamous dance scene.

Feig insisted the dance scene on location. This meant closing off a part of the city to do. This cost $5million.

The scene was shot, put into the movie and they did the first test screenings. It was terrible, audiences completely hated it and it was killing their reviews so they scrapped it, putting clips of it in the credits.

$5million down the drain.

He's right as fuck. Had the movie cost 50m less, closer to a 80-100m budget Sony could have recouped costs from the movie, via product tie-ins. Power Rangers is getting a sequel based toy sales alone. 230m on an 80m budget, with some blu-ray and some TV/media income, it would have done ok and that franchise could have been salvaged in a sequel. They blew it.

Normies have NO idea how expensive television is... and the concept of how expensive a movie is often even more mind blowing.

Sure, they might know the total cost... but shutting down a city block, hiring 50+ dancing extras, literally hundreds of crew, security, hiring the police... like others have said $5m+ for literally nothing

Might have worked with a different female or male/female cast.
Would have also help if it would have been made by someone who actually had some passion / respect for the franchise, and not just some guy who was talked into doing it for money by a feminist with an agenda.

“The girls are great in it. Kate McKinnon, Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig – what a wonderful, wonderful players they are – and Leslie Jones,” Aykroyd told hosts Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer, as seen in the tweet below. “I was really happy with the movie, but it cost too much. And Sony does not like to lose money. It made a lot of money around the world but it just cost too much, making it economically not feasible to do another one. So that’s too bad – the director, he spent too much on it. He didn’t shoot scenes we suggested to him, several scenes that were going to be needed, and he said, ‘No, we don’t need them,’ and then we tested the movie and they needed them and he had to go back — about $30 to $40 million in reshoots. So, yeah, he will not be back on the Sony lot anytime soon.”

That is some Hollywood accounting there. It doesn't cost $30 to $40 million to reshoot anything!

Don't get me wrong, I like the gameplay but the game has nothing but references to the first two movies. The music and such is brilliant but reusing Mr Stay Puft and other major ghosts was too much, they even re-used jokes. If this were a movie it would be no better than all the other "remember THIS?" reboots we see today.

It could have been so much worse and is fine as a game but in no way is this worthy of being considered GB3.

>That being said I've heard his Vodka is pretty heckin good.

Premium vodka is a marketing scam. It's the easiest liquor to make, and trivial to not make it taste like dogshit. Most vodka producers don't even distill it themselves! They just buy pure spirits (something like Everclear) from one of the handful of major distilleries producing, dilute it, and bottle it. A good vodka has to taste as little as possible, which is easy as shit to do from a distilling perspective. There's none of the balancing of complex flavour profiles like with whisky production. His whole gimmick is the crystal skull bullshit.
