Premium vodka is a marketing scam. It's the easiest liquor to make, and trivial to not make it taste like dogshit. Most vodka producers don't even distill it themselves! A good vodka has to taste as little as possible, which is easy as shit to do from a distilling perspective. There's none of the balancing of complex flavour profiles like with whisky production.
