Okay so there was Gin Erso trying to find her dad, Mads Mikkelsen, but she gets caught or something, so she ends up breaking out. Just in time too! Because then she meets up Captain Rebel along with Snarky Robot who's an asshole because ???. They go to the temple to stop the Imperial Nazis from getting the Kyburr Crystals. So there's Donnie Yen and Chief BigGunforyou and they team up with Gin and Rebel. Oh no! The nazis are attacking them! Oh wait, Gin is a strong independent womyn who dont need no man, so she kicks all their asses. But there's too many nazis, so the robot shows up and the day is saved for now.

So Donnie Yen and Chief team up with Gin and the rebels because ???. Oh yeah, so the Nazis fire the Death Star, so we're 100% caught up with how the Death Star was formed. Despite this being a galaxy and blowing up one planet at a time is a tediously slow process when there's literally billions. Oh well.

So we also get an ex-imperial pilot who joins up because ???. He wants to overthrow the only people who write him a check, because fuck stable incomes.
Turns out rebel man wants to kill Mads, but the operation goes tits up and Mads gets killed anyways. But we have the location to the data of the death star so everything is okay. So most of the movie was basically escorting a dewey decimal number to the right book, checking that book out and scanning each page to torrent on the internet. Tarkin and Vader show up because nostalgia.
Anyway, they go to the library scanner to release the data to TPB, and there's a big huge ship sortie and there's a hammerhead ship that uses very loose physics to work. This tiny ship pushes the star destroyer away instead of bisecting it because ???.

Anyway all the characters you encountered are blown up by the death star, and you feel like it's a waste of time because there's no goddamn development or names given or any reason to give a shit.
