They are not even really the same genre. GoodFellas is a borderline comedy. I'd say all in all Godfather is a better film, artistrically speaking, but GoodFellas can often be the more enjoyable movie.

Casino was basically Goodfellas II but with even more narration at the beginning. Both the main leads, De Niro and Pesci, play near identical roles to the ones they do in Goodfellas, with Pesci even being killed off unexpectedly for "taking things to far".

Apart from that, the soundtrack and cinematography are an embarrassing attempt to replicate Goodfellas and the plot is just plain dull.

If it weren't directed by Scorcese it would've been shat on and left in the dirt in the year of its release.

I just want to say Godfather II is a shit attempt to recapture the feeling from the first one. It even has the same plot: starts with a party, there's a hit, and then to punish the culprits. The scenes in faux italian are just cringe, only a couple of lines by Pacino and Duvall are correct.
