Showrunners wanted a mini series. Disney/Marvel wanted a show that kept going.
Original the idea if it kept going was that the show would skip every 10 years or so each season. But that didn't happen

Two reasons the show didn't interest me and didn't watch:

One: Main character was shown old and dead. Not gonna enjoy watching adventures of character with that image popping up.

Two: Main character is not a handsome guy.
