What do you think of the film series as a whole?

>your ranking of the 7 film
For me it's 1>6>5>4>3>2>7

Bear traps, I liked how we finally saw what it does in the last one
>>83473403
they are all shit
>>83473424
Why don't you like it? I think the first one is correct and enjoyable but the 6 other movies are torture porn with shit directing
I marathoned all these in like 2010, haven't watched one since. The most memorable trap for me was the one at the beginning of 4 with the two guys chained to the winch. One has his eyes sewn shut and the other, his mouth. They have to work together butthey fucking FAIL
>>83473452
The first one has a really dumb story, obnoxious editing and boring characters. Why would anyone enjoy these movies?
>>83473541I just like the more and more stupid traps,
the more you advance in the order of release the more the traps will become some Final Destination tier death
Saw Legacy will be kino.
>set 10 years after the original series, will be mystery whodunnit focused, a copycat killer is taking up the legacy
>directed by spierg brothers (predestination, daybreakers)
>longest shoot of any saw film (46 days)
>jigsaw's corpse is dug up and stolen
>tobin bell is returning
>charlie clouser is doing the score again, says both him and spierg brothers are giving the franchise a fresh new feel
>main trap will take place at a farm in a barn
>one trap involves a car and four motorcycles (3 of which will crash) in an underground warehouse
>donna evans will return to die in a trap
>mostly shot at actual locations rather than sets
Main trap will have 3 or 4 people in the barn. Rather than a series of traps like the previous sequels it'll just be one trap like the bathroom in the first film. The trap will be used as an excuse to explore the characters rather than the characters being an excuse for the trap.
I like the series as a whole, first one is obviously the best, 7th one the worst because of the borderline retarded shit that happened in it.
2 and 3 were also reasonably good. 4 is the start of the downfall.

1 was semi-decent
Everything after that was dogshit

Pure torture porn. Not above me writing lurid stories of youths being impaled on the bum by wooden spikes and whatnot.
These stores are lurid, but fascinating to us.
The Saw series is based as fuck.
>b-b-b-but it w-w-wasn't m-made in the 80s s-s-so i-it's s-shit
One of few horror series where they actually put effort into the sequels. Obviously they were made for money, like every sequel, but they clearly put effort into each one, they really cared about entertaining you. The story get's very convoluted with Part 4 but that's a big part of it's charm. It's dedication to continuity is literally unmatched by any movie series in existence. It has lovable villains and heroes to root for, the traps are entertaining and the Lost-styled mysteries are fun to follow along with.
The Saw series is pure kino. It takes a true patrician to appreciate them.
Hoffman did nothing wrong, except gettign caught
1>6>2>3>7>5>>>>>>4
2 gets a lot of hate but the scenario, twist and introducing Amanda's role behind the scenes was great.
>>83473624
number 7 was shit though, the rest were pretty good
1>3>2>6>4>5>7
>>83473690
It was shit but fun. 4 was pretty bad too but it had a lot of good ideas. 5 is underrated noir kino.
First one was meh and then I didn't watch anything after it.

It's a good series with a really good plot. Mark Hoffman is, with no doubt, the most competent human villain ever

Who cares? Traps are no what's important. The plot is what's important

Me and my friends used to try and come up with ways to escape the traps and design our own for each other and people we knew, going to be max comfy watching the new one.
I would honestly give credit to anybody who watched these films upon their release and can now remember enough about each one to rank and compare them.
How the fuck aren't they all just one big mush in your mind?
>>83476019By the police I meant, he should have known that just changing his voice wouldn't be enough, without that he would still be alive I think
>>83476117
I just watched the 7 films in a row, in almost a week or 2, it's still fresh in my mind
>>83476153
Even sohe was never truly caught by the police. And I liked the way he escaped them in Saw VII
Mark Hoffman is that guy you think's gonna die or get caught at any moment. But he doesn't. Because he is not an idiot
>>83476117
I love the series and have seen each one at least 3 times. I'll still misremember which traps are in which sometimes except the main ones but the plot of each is pretty concrete in my head
1 > 5 > 4 > 3 > 7 > 6 > 2
