Can we talk about how literally the only good parts of this film are the scenes with Orin Scrivello, and any of the plant songs? This is was like my favourite musical flick when I was a kid, because I loved the way they made the villain songs sound. But returning to it as an adult, it's bullshit. Rick Moranis is alright. Whoever played Audrey was a hack, Mister Mushnik is barely there. The dialogue is stilted, the soundscapes are weird, and the overall energy of the thing goes up and down more than an indecisive whore's underwear.
Has anyone else had this? Maybe not with this film, but with another. Like I said, the plant scenes definitely still hold up (dat puppetry, dat Stubbs) but I'm forever gonna be disappointed that I watched Little Shop as an adult and know that it's a pile of warm trash.
