This was too sad to be enjoyable

Is this actually good or is it something Bjork fans say they like to seem artistic?
Not sure about a 2 and a half hour musical by Lars Von Trier. Everyone of his movies I have seen has so forcibly tried to artistic it is cringe.
I hear great things about this film, but then I hear great things about all his films from 19 year olds out to make a point.

It's a good film but don't watch if you're suicidal

It's painful to watch for multiple reasons. Only watch it if you're really into bjork.

its a good film. Legit arthouse kino
I agree with Bjork that there was no good reason to do to her character what he did.
I guess I just interpret this as that Von Trier really, really suffers from terrible, devastating depression, and this is him trying to push his feelings on us. And not in a way I can kind of appreciate like with Melancholia.

glorified torture porn
This film was edgy shit, literally nothing good about it. Trier just rolls around in the imagined suffering of others masturbating over his fantasy of how horrible their lives are.
This came off as an edgy sixth form play.
bjerk is a qt but her acting was too silly for me to take this movie seriously
