In the "oh this guy is good" way and obviously "oh, he's hot". His most successful movie was Sleepy Hollow, which did alright at the box office. He didn't reach the "everyone is talking about him" levels before POTC, something where ScarJo already is.

It would work as long as they fill it with other characters from that universe. Considering they already explained her origin in the avengers, it would be a waste of time to have a whole origin prequal kind of movie. And without showing the character developing, you can't get an invested in the side characters, since they're just literal whos.

Put Iron man in it or something. And most of all use ScarJo as eye candy, it's one of the few things she's good for, but we never get any gratuitous scenes of her.
