One of the cringiest scene in the history of filmmaking. At this point in the movie, a normal person was only waiting for the movie to end as quickly as possible

What did they mean by this?

People would have laughed their asses off at this scene if it wasn't Star Wars. Critics would have panned the movie for doing the obvious nazi parallel to establish them as the bad guys if it wasn't Star Wars.

Critics would have disliked Kylo Ren too, if it wasn't Star Wars. The common thing people do when something is bad in a thing that they like is saying "But it's realistic! It's good because it's realistic! It doesn't matter that Kylo Ren is a completely incompetent and not at all threatening villain, because it's realistic!!!". You don't like realism, no one likes realism.
