Why are they calling this a Mummy remake when it's clearly a League of Extraordinary Gentlemen remake's prequel?

Which is why I said it's a prequel to a remake of that.
While I don't think it will ever be a 1:1 thing, as I'm fairly certain Fox still has the movie rights, the whole secret organization put in place to deal with pulp sci-fi and horror villains thing seems like it's the next natural step to take if they plan on turning this into a series.
That being said, since most if not all character in LoEG is in the public domain, nothing really stops them from including them with minor alterations.

I read the leaked script back when the mummy was a man and it honestly seemed like it couldve been an interesting movie. Mummy has horrific powers but it probably isn't a scary movie. Not super far off from the 1999 mummy and I read a quick wiki summary of the very first mummy and it seemed to sorta be like that in parts with some more action.

I'm actually looking forward to it. if it is close to the script that was leaked the movie isn't spoiled by the trailers.

Thanks for the b roll. Decent. no real spoilers. This was definitely for the trailers. I haven't watched "a making of" stuff in a while so its interesting to see how movies are done.
