does anyone think Covenant is better than Prometheus?
Yeah
Hell no
Overall yes. But Prometheus was better looking
>>83346824
They're both shit, so it doesn't really matter
>>83346824
Covenant has better rewatch value, but Prometheus is the smarter movie.
>>83346824
what in the fuck is happening in this photo
>>83346824
on a side note
why would an android even NEED hair that grows? can you imagine the amount of superfluous engineering they would have to squeeze into the scalp to create that?
it triggered autism in me
>>83346824
I think of them as one film. I plan to do a fanedit once the bluray drops. Look for my tag, MAGRAM

bad case of dandruff
>>83347032
why would he need to learn by doing things instead of just sticking a usb cable up his ass
>>83347032
You can always handwave it away as Weyland being a perfectionist that did it just because he could.
But then you have to additionally wonder why he didn't equip David with a functional shlong.
>>83347032
>implying regenerating hair and skin wasn't perfected in sex robots decades ago.
>tfw David will never experiment on you
>>83346824
I do. By itself, it's a more coherent movie overall.
This part doesn't make sense though ... if David's goal was to make a perfect organism why have that perfect organism be completely dependent on humans (or engineers) as a gestation organisms?
Without them the xeno has no way of reproducing.
>>83347006
david likes to dye his hair blond for some reason. at the beginning of the movie, he's shown dying his hair.
>>83347216
the better question is why doesn't anyone seem to understand that perfect is a completely subjective term
>>83346824
Both are complete dog shit.
>>83347169
Cute doggo
>>83347006
>>83347218
He's trying to imitate Peter O'Toole in Lawrence of Arabia iirc.
>>83347218
He watches Lawrence of Arabia and marvels in the unfiltered pure kino of it that he wants to look more like Lawrence, There are several references and allusions to the movie later.
Yes, but the movie also wouldn't work without Prometheus.
>>83346824
Yes. Some say its better, some say it's worse
yes, it had better pacing, more action, and is just more rewatchable imo
>>83347500
Is this bait?

no way jose
>>83346824
Prometheus is by far a better movie.
>>83347600
No you contrarian faggot its true
David is a robot faggot
>>83347216
It makes sense. His perfect creation is also the destruction of his creators.
He killed millions
>>83347431
>>83347346
So he's basically cosplaying? based david.
>>83347169
sleep tight piggo
>>83346824
Prometheus definitely got one thing right over Covenant, and thats the landing party wearing air-tight suits and helmets when exploring a planet completely new to humanity.
Seems like the producers listened to the criticism that taking off those helmets midway was retarded.
But instead of writing a better plot to contracting the virus, they just had the party wearing no protective clothing or helmets in the sequel.
>>83346824
prometheus is unironically the best film after alien
covenant is a trashcan masquerading as a film
>>83349202
READ THE NOVELS
Yeah, that's not an excuse, but this isn't really hard science fiction, and neither was Alien.
Why did Walter put the embryo in the biohazard container at the absolute very beginning? Friend of mine said it looked dead or disfigured, but neither of us could remember completely.
>>83349202
>giving a shit about the apparel of suits when Scott raped the space jockey
wew lad
>>83349978
This is your Space Jockey for the night
>>83349891
What was in the novels?
I mean they didnt even land in their planned destination.
The least i expect is a small scene where they send in a drone and it gives them the all clear. Combined with a character explaining that most of the protective gear got burned in the flash incident, to make the plot even more water tight.
>>83346824
Yes, but not by a lot. Prometheus was psuedo-intellectual shite; Covenant was psuedo-intellectual shite but at least did OK as an Alien movie. The characters and dialogue were crap for both of them.
>>83350149
Supposedly Walter tests the waters, so to speak. Something is said about the pathogens, and why they don't give a fuck. I don't know, it's stupid, but that wheat field scene was unironically the tits. David and Walter were pretty great too.
You gotta take what you can get.
Covenant was fun to watch but I legit enjoyed Prometheus more
Anyone who claims Covenant is better than Prometheus is a moron. The argument about it being "more like the first one so its better" is an entirely separate issue.
>>83346895
This. I found Covenant a lot more entertaining, but neither are great.
>>83350164
HOLY SHIT YOU ARE A RETARD
HOLY FUCKING SHIT
The characters in Covenant were cardboard cutout cliches who do nothing but serve as fodder for David and the Aliens. You can explain motives and actions more in Prometheus compared to Covenant which projects how characters will behave a mile away.
