1 and 3 are pretty good i hear. 2 is LITERALLY a homosexual movie. Skip it

I think sometimes they try to pull him out so they can kill him, but it's not like he's just running around the real world the whole time. The whole danger with him is supposed to be that you're basically fucked because you have have to sleep sometime. He's much more of a threat in dreams (plus, in dreams, he has supernatural powers to completely shape things however he wants, transform into anything, whatever).

first time i saw it, i fucking hated it.
second time, i loved it.

As a horror movie, it doesn't age well. As a comedy, it's fucking great.
