Also, just what will this remake accomplish that wasn't already by the late 80s remake? The effects in that were top notch because they weren't CGI and were gruesome and practical.

The practical effects were lame everything looked like a weird pile of goob almost bloblike if you could imagine, with CGI they can finally give it a real personality beyond a deadly pile of jello it's gonna be hella scary dude just you wait.
