Idk about anti-liberal, so much as anti-socialite. Amy Adams gets punished for choosing a life within high society rather than settle down with the broke writer Jake Gyllenhaal. Her fancy new husband cheats on her, and when she tries reconnecting with Jake Gyllenhaal, he stands her up. Not to mention pretty much every other rich couple in the movie is depicted as having miserable marriages.
