Good god this was the dullest fantasy series I ever read. I think I got to Book 6 or so before a bad batch of books ruined it for me (I think the last half was printed twice, or some shit. It was a long time ago.)

And I say iot was dull as someone who genuinely enjoys the first half of book 1 in the Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn series where we follow a kitchem scullion just generally having a normal life for 400 pages.

I just started reading this a couple of weeks ago. I'm about halfway through the first book. They're making a TV show based on it? Fucking hell.

All the gay shit like bathing and clothing talk, second amyrlin seat and cuckoldry subplots will be kept. Most everything else will be cut.

Rand will be a 5' tall arab, matt in love with Perrin and Elayne, Egwene and Faile kick Moridin in the balls so hard he flies into Shaitan, killing both.

my $0.02 worth, I grew up on Eddings' books. Kept me sane enough not to kill myself. His hero's journey in the book were incredibly important developmentally. Not sure how I would go reading them 20 years later, but then that's what Joseph Campbell is for I guess.
