Which Ripley/Female Heroine from the Alien films was the best?

Not technically a protagonist, but I like David. He's an interesting addition, and Fassbender does great. Also, Ripley. Obviously.

Just a fairly normal yet competent at her job female that gets into a situation way over her head, yet pulls trough it trough a mixture of luck and making the right judgement calls.
Kind of like John McClane in Die Hard, the right person at the wrong place during the wrong time. Both of them then devolved into Flandarized action heroes.

I finally started this series this week. What ranks do you guys have for it?

I've only seen Alien and Aliens so far, but I hear Lynch directed 3.

So far I like 2 over 1, I was meh on Prometheus and didnt like Covenant.

Both Ripley (1979) and Daniels was the best.

Both are normal, competent people who get over their head and have to figure out a way to survive. Both only take over when their commanders die (Dallas/Kane in Aliens, and Mr. Crispy and Mr. I seen the devil in Covenant) .

The fact that they are female is never a issue, it just there turn to step and and they step up and save themselves.
