Say what you will about George Lucas, but there was a reason episode III still kept hype high enough for people to just go to a different movie to see the trailer as son as it came out despite the shit that was episode II. The guy knew how to market and how to make it feel original and fresh but still his same universe of space opera.
Disney did great with rogue one for what it was, but they seem to be fine keeping the derivative formula Abrams set up for the remaining episodes, and no one really wants to see that or get taken in by cop out fan service progression in the story.

The OT and it's dialogue was heavily inspired by American New Wave Cinema, and that's what gave it the distinctive flavor that the normie fans all nutted over so badly. It's basically Five Easy Pieces thrown in a blender with Kurosawa and old WWII movies.

Meanwhile, the prequels were meant to be 30 years before the OT. Go back 30 years from the 70s and you have the 1940s, where the dialogue was ALL every bit as stilted and expository as it was in the prequels.

Like I said, turn on TCM, realize how all of those films are scripted and acted exactly like the prequels were, and realize that Lucas was autistic enough to make the prequels to a trilogy about the 70s look and sound like it was made in the Golden Age of Hollywood 30 years prior.

Which means that we could have had a Lucas-helmed sequel trilogy that was scripted and acted like a Nolan or Refn movie in keeping with its 2010s era.

God, I hope the day of rope happens so we can see Kennedy and the kikes at Disney hang.

That scene where he steals the pie and threatens the waitress stands out as the best in that movie I think. You can notice that the camera angle/movement is normal and the colors aren't all wacky and fucked like the rest of the film, it really emphasizes that at that point in the movie the fun was over and that was a real low point for the characters.
