hardly a coward, probably more pragmatic than cowardly. i mean, at the end he gets shit scared because an alien attacks him, but throughout the movie he is openly backstabbing the only form of protection he has while potentially exposing himself to the alien menace all at the risk of duty

to be honest, even though he's painted as the bad guy, this character perhaps unintentionally held the strongest convictions of any character in the movie
