Anyone else have a problem with focusing your eyes on the subtitles more than the actual movie? I really need subtitles sometimes, but I hesitate to turn it on because my eyes instinctively rest on them instead of the moving pictures above it.

You know what fixes this shit? Not having an internet connection for like three days or so minimum. A month back I didn't have internet for a while and then I could actually marathon a movie in one session without problems again. I watched fucking The Wolf of Wall Street in one session and loved it, it didn't drag at all. With internet that is pretty much an impossibility to me.

I swear the internet fucks up your attention span. It's got that constant instant gratification at the click of a button. Internet is poison. I need to get off this shit. Like a week off the internet I'm a far more functional person that actually wants to hang out with friends again. Porn also kills your motivation to do jack shit.

I'm the same way, subtitles are great because they don't hinder the viewing experience, and you can essentially read the script along with the visuals so you don't miss a single piece of the story.

When I watched Logan I could barely understand X-23, same with Bane. Inherent Vice is like that too, when Fire Walk With Me was released on dvd there was no subtitles during the pink room.

Subtitles serve a purpose.

Sometimes I have to put on the CC if they say mumble some phrase and my brain has no idea what the fuck they're intending to say to it can't parse the noise.
