Watched it last night. After watching it twice in theatres, I was iffy if it would transfer to home video as well as JW did...it may even be better

No it was just like the first one. a 'movie' genetically engineered to appeal to imdbspawn /v/edditors with no sense of sophistication who laud stale meme dialogue, which supports upvote groupthink mentality, and meme acting with a good movie pandering reddit tier proto capeshit "entertainment" sensibilities and a meme tv movie videogame aesthetic. This is a flick at best and people who praise it are likely no older then 18.

I thought it was infinitely worse than the first. People always said that Keanu is a shit actor, but I never really saw it until now.
Every line was delivered incredibly poorly, and felt very forced.
The henchmen basically just threw themselves at him without any sort of tactic or thought, as if the only reason for their existence was to be bullet stoppers.

2/10, would not see again.

Didn't have anywhere near as much emotional weight for me as the first one. Honestly it used almost the exact same formula, and didn't do it as well. The fight scenes were super long, and not as creative as the first one's. The best part was the two pencil kills, and everything else just sort of blurred together for me. There's only so much gun kata mixed with MMA that you can do before you start repeating moves and dragging scenes out. The entire plot just came out of left field as well, and the villain was kind of weak. I wouldn't have this complaint if they'd set up in the first one the John had assistance with his 'impossible task', but they didn't. It kind of felt like a retcon.

I'd still give it a 7.5 or 8 /10

Is this move supposed to be a "so bad its good" type of movie? The dialogue was so bad I thought it might have been written for comedic effect but I didnt get the impression from the actors or the crowd that it was supposed to be funny. Anyways, this movie was shit and the action wasnt even that good.
